Yoga to Ease Anxiety Workshops
In each Yoga to Ease Anxiety workshop, we learn and practice active progressive relaxation, pranayama (breathing exercises) to calm the body and mind, asana (yoga postures) to balance the nervous system, and a brief meditation.
Topics that I cover include the role of conscious breathing in accessing the feedback loop between the body and mind and interrupting the stress response; how asana practice works to build resistance to stress; and how the very same steps we take to overcome anxiety are those that lead to spiritual growth for anyone.
